Desi Moon has taken over...

Take a Leap

Hi all! My name is Desi Moon I want to thank Wendy for letting me hijack her blog today!

I really want to talk about my new release, Accidental Intent coming out March 17th. It is my first romantic murder mystery full of strong opinionated woman, the men who can’t get enough of them, goofy dogs who will melt your heart and some really nice footwear.

But it just doesn’t feel right talking about Accidental Intent (Did I mention it will be released on March 17th?) because today is February 29th.

Leap year, the hidden day. The one day that comes every four years. It is kind of like Vegas—“What happens on February 29th only gets discussed on February 29th

Frasier Crane (Remember him?) implored his listeners to step out of their comfort zones today, do something unexpected. I would like to do the same. It is a free day, one that only comes along every four years—do the unexpected!

Take your Hunny out on an extraordinary date (Some place the two of you would never think about going), get that tattoo you’ve been debating for far too long or treat yourself to that mocha you’ve been denying yourself. (Fact: Calories don’t know about the free day, so you can indulge without guilt)

After a steadying breath kiss your crush or just ask them out to coffee. Take a leap of faith.

It is February 29th, take advantage of the glory of the day and do something out of the ordinary.

When St. Paddy’s day rolls around purchase Accidental Intent, kick back with a mug of Irish coffee (The girls of AI would love it!) and enjoy the absolute craziness of my world.

Love and understanding??

Love is what you make of it and laughter is how you look at it so if you love and have understanding then the laughter will come easily.

Here she is Zillah Anderson

Hey everyone! Zillah Anderson here. I’m new to the romance scene, though I’ve been reading and writing in the genre for a long time. On my own blog I tend to walk around like I’m Miss Snark, but in truth I’m a softy. The differences between men and women intrigue me and I love to toy with all the complications, fascinations, and relations that happen between them.

But for the moment, I’d like you to do me a favor (It won’t take long, I promise.) Think back to that celebrity crush that really made you start to become aware of that whirlwind of emotion that resides in every woman. It can be from when you were younger or ten minutes ago, but we all have at least one. Remember how he made you feel? It was like a gate unlocked and you were suddenly aware of emotions and sensual tendencies you didn’t even know you possessed! Fangirl crushes come and go, but there’s always one that makes your eyes widen, your feet stop dead in their tracks, and your cheeks blush because suddenly you’ve got all sorts of thoughts going on that you wouldn’t have dreamed of thinking days before! Sure, it’s a crush and very unlikely that anything will come of it, but that’s okay. That dreaming and longing that makes you aware of yourself is a huge step.

Though this sort of thing has always made me wonder about who those men in question would ponder about. Who would make them start to wonder about their carnal capabilities? Who makes them stop dead in their tracks? Do they even notice the kind of girl that stares at their posters and dreams while watching their movies? That’s something that I’m playing with in my upcoming release, Power Chord (due this spring). My characters Drake and Becca lead very different lives and have very different standards, yet their interests and turn-ons are remarkably similar. It’s a short story, but sometimes the right moment is all it takes.

The unedited blurb:

Drake has gotten used to having things his way – he makes the decisions whether it be recording his music, on the road while touring, or in bed. He may be somewhat older than when he first started, but he can still pack venues and still has fans at his mercy. But while professional success brings about one type of satisfaction, there’s a certain type that he just can’t seem to reach one dull night after a show. He doesn’t party hard anymore – he knows better – but that doesn’t mean he can’t indulge in a dirty fantasy all his own. What would it be like to have ultimate power, to be able to shed the confines of his body and sneak up on the unsuspecting by way of astral travel? What would it be like to seduce a woman when she can’t see him, can only feel him when he wants her to?  And what happens when he’s not the only one who appreciates good music and is turned on by the power of control?

The unedited excerpt:

What’s so wrong with thinking highly of myself, anyway? Why the hell is that arrogant? Why shouldn't I want the best? Drake had been the best once and wasn’t that why he was back out on tour, to prove that he could be again? Hell, he was the best, and being the best demanded power, a power that he wouldn't admit to not feeling most days.

Even as a geeky fifteen-year-old he’d been intent on obtaining power; wasn’t that and getting tail why most guys picked up a guitar in the first place? But even before that he’d been fascinated with the dynamics in those old-school comics he relentlessly blew his allowance on. X-Ray vision, super strength, mind control…while the first two were kinky the latter option sparked his interest. Mind control, astral travel, well why not? If Drake really had that ability it would give him back some options.

If that was the case, if he could choose at will to leave his body and play the badass voyeur then he'd send himself out, searching for a suitable victim. It would have to be someone unsuspecting, but who knew who he was, knew his music. He wasn't stupid; a little vanity made for a better result. Even half-hearted fans would do a hell of a lot when confronted with the interest of a celebrity.

He’d look for someone different, someone not his usual type. She would be...not an idiot, but not some lab-coat genius. Living with...no, living alone. Alone and lonely. He allowed himself his trademark smirk as the face of a woman in the crowd waiting outside the stage door popped into his head. Poor thing, she was obviously shy and trying hard, but on a regular night she would’ve been passed by in favor of those who had a little more rack and a little more of a carnal education. But tonight wasn’t a regular night

Anne Holly presents V-Day

http://annehollyholiday.webs.com/valentinesdaytales.htm

V-Day, an erotic romantic comedy for Valentine’s Day:

By Anne Holly

It all started with a serenade…

A family like Daniel’s and the solitary pursuit of musical excellence is enough to make a young man crazy. No wonder all Daniel Vouks dreams of is getting away. He knows his violin will take him places in life, but the only place he really wants to be is next door. He’s been in love with his neighbor since he was fourteen, but can he ever make her see him as more than just a lovesick kid?

V-Day is the story of a Valentine's Day weekend Daniel fears he may regret, but will never, ever forget.

Excerpt:

Bronwyn rested her temple against her propped up hand and contemplated him a moment. “How old are you, anyway?” she asked, a glint of humor dancing around the green and gold in her eyes.

“Almost twenty,” he answered, looking away. “Well, twenty in about ten months.”

“Oh man,” she groaned. “You just turned nineteen?” He nodded and she closed her eyes and shook her head. “Do you know how old I am?”

Daniel knew he could guess freely but decided against it. “I don’t know that your age makes any difference to me,” he answered honestly.

“Twenty-seven,” she supplied anyway. “I’ll be twenty-eight in May.”

“Wow, so we’re literally May and December.” He smiled.

“Yeah, but the other way around.”

“You know, I don’t get the problem about age,” he shrugged. “As long as both people are adults, what’s the big deal?” He realized in a moment of panic he was assuming too much, referring to them as if they were considering a relationship. But the way she looked at him during brunch made him think he wasn’t just falling prey to wishful thinking here. “Besides, women live longer than men anyway, so doesn’t it make sense that the man be a little younger when the relationship starts? Why not do the reverse of how people usually do it?”

“Craziness,” she murmured and shook her head, standing from the table.

“Who? Me?” he asked innocently.

Refusing to answer further, she asked if he wanted coffee instead.

Out of habit he almost said no but changed his mind. “Yes, actually,” he said, gratefully accepting the steaming cup from her, adding silently that today seemed like a good day for change.

Daniel insisted on doing the dishes and cleared the table while Bronwyn disappeared into another part of the house. Scrubbing at the maple syrup, he almost didn’t notice her return until she was right behind him. The pressure of her front against his back was subtle and he wanted to dismiss it as accidental since she was placing a fork he’d missed into the sink, but the feel of her breasts against him made his chest tight and instantly brought a response from his body.

He felt her stretch away to the counter but she made no effort to put distance between her belly and his buttocks, making him slowly realize that the pressure hadn’t been so accidental.

“Drink?” she asked, her voice now a bit husky as she held a flute of orange juice around his chest for him.

Though it looked like plain orange juice, the fluted glass and the naughty tone in her voice almost made him mention he was technically not old enough to drink alcohol legally. But not wanting to kill the mood made him think better of it as he took the sip Bronwyn offered. It was frothy and had the slight flavor of wine and he wondered if it was the bubbles that were suddenly making him feel light headed or something far more primitive.

Sitting the glass down, Bronwyn reached beyond him and turned off the faucet, her breasts overtly against his back which was now taut with attention to her every breath and movement. Unsure whether to turn around or not, and unwilling to risk breaking the spell they were weaving or letting her know he was already hard as a rock, Daniel stood stalk still, his chest rising and falling deeply as he listened to the intoxicating rustle of her clothing against his.

“So,” she whispered against one of his shoulder blades, “what are your plans for today?”

Daniel managed only a weak croak that indicated nothing. Hell, at the moment, he could've been expected for a NASA launch that afternoon and he'd have sworn his calendar was free.

“Coast is clear all weekend,” he joked, hoping he sounded debonair.

Hot and cold shivers skittered down his nervous system in waves when puffs of her hot breath kissed the downy curls at the back of his neck and an uncomfortably un-masculine weakness melted his knees. A humiliating little squeak escaped him from somewhere below his heart, deep in his belly.

“Oh God,” he breathed as she rubbed his length through his thick cords, praying for fortitude.

Finally, he could take no more as he spun into her arms where he found her in nothing but a robe of alluring dark teal made from yards of a floating, dreamy cloth he couldn’t name. Sending up a silent prayer of gratitude, Daniel allowed his instincts to take over and grasped her by the hips, pulling her into a somewhat clumsy but passionate kiss.

“I knew you’d taste this good,” he murmured absently against her lips, following her as she backed up toward the table without breaking the link of their mouths even as she hopped up on the surface and began to undo his fly with eager hands.

“Are we…I mean, this is really going to…” Not yet fully believing his luck, Daniel’s brain fumbled as all of his usually articulate speech flew out of his brain. Unsure how to say what he knew he needed to ask, he ground out, “A rubber, I don’t have any.”

“Were you born this practical?” Bronwyn asked as she whipped off his plain, black belt. “I’ve been on the pill since I was your age.” She pulled him down to her so she could playfully nip at his ear lope before whispering. “Have you been a dirty boy?”

“Only by myself,” he promised, thanking his lucky stars. “I swear it.”

Bronwyn laughed a moment then suddenly pushed at his chest lightly. “Wait…You’re serious?”

Discomforted, Daniel couldn’t answer as he watched the realization about his virginity dawn on her face. He wanted to pour through the floor and never be seen again.

“Well…” she said, giving a mischievous little grin that seemed to drip with mysterious overtones of feminine power and satisfaction. “This is interesting,” she purred, licking the lobe where she'd just nipped. “We might need the whole weekend after all.” She nuzzled into his neck. “Seems I get to break you in,” she teased with a saucy laugh.

“Help yourself,” he offered magnanimously as they folded in on one another.

Love Again Anthology featuring MELISSA KEIR

Love Again Anthology is a Ruby Lioness Press publication.  The anthology will feature short stories by Melissa Keir, Sabrina Luna, Tamaria Soana, Autumn Jones Lake, Melissa Kendall, Ella Jade, and Lacey Wolfe.

Blurb: Forever Love is a story of a woman who comes back to her hometown, fifteen years after leaving it for the bright lights of Chicago. When Syndie Wilder returns to Amherst, Ohio, she comes back to take care of her ailing father and doesn't expect to run into the childhood friend who dumped her in high school.  Thom Johnson had regrets for how he treated Syndie but hasn't ever stopped loving her.  When fate causes the two to meet, sparks fly again.  But will a childhood friendship turn into a forever love?

 Unedited Excerpt:

Approaching the beach, I saw the picnic area and park where families played.  This was the park that my grandparents took us to play on the beach at with its giant Easter basket, beautiful fountain, and lawn bowling court. Parking in an empty spot, I watched the children playing on the sand, near the water’s edge.  This park also held memories of teenage make-out sessions behind fogged up windows with nameless boys from my past.  Kissing was the most I’d do being a good girl and it cost me many a boyfriend.  We would all bring our cars here to listen loudly to music and dance in the streets.  It was a place to see everyone and be seen. It’s funny that a child’s playground could turn into a place for such behavior just as soon as the sun went down. Getting out of my car, I hiked down the stairs to the sandy beach.  Being a mild September day, the beach was fairly empty – just myself and a few seagulls.  Walking slowly along the water’s edge with my head down, I didn’t notice the person swimming in the water, until he began to climb out of the surf.

His dark, cropped haircut framed the face of a Roman god.  He had a strong nose and jawline with just a sprinkling of whisker stubble.  But it was his body that made me pause.  His shoulders and upper arms were muscular and looked like they could carry a girl off to bed.  His chest was covered with hair that immediately drew my eyes and tempted me to run my fingers through it.  The chest hair tapered down to his narrow waist and seemed to lead the way to paradise.  I stopped walking and just stared.  Gosh I hope that I am not drooling too!  This guy is smokin’ hot!  Then he smiled and I noticed his face.  Wow, a little dimple in his chin!  He seemed familiar but I wasn’t sure.

“Hello.  Nice day for a walk. The weather has been kind to us this year.” He spoke and my knees wobbled. His voice was like chocolate, smooth and delicious.

“Hi.  Yes.  I was glad that the weather was nice enough to get out.  But isn’t the water too cold for a swim?”

“Not at all.  I enjoy my morning work outs after a long shift at the station.  You don’t remember me do you, Syndie?”  My mind was drawing a blank.  How did he know my name?  Who was this hottie?

“Not really.  You look familiar.  But I can’t place you. I’m sorry.”

“It’s been a long time.  We grew up together, our parents were best friends, and even ‘went out’ in high school. I’m not surprised you don’t remember me, you hightailed it out of Amherst like your butt was on fire after graduation.  We never saw each other again.  I’m Thom Johnson, but everyone called me T.J.”

Oh wow, I had remembered him.  I was his girlfriend but he had dumped me for someone who put out.  I grew up with images of him in my head as the ideal guy.  Our families even encouraged our dating, thinking that we were perfect together.  When he dumped me, it broke my heart.  I couldn’t stand watching him move on without me.

P.K. Morris

Announcing PK Morris

Hey everyone!

I’m P.K. Morris and I’d like to start by thanking Wendy for having me on her blog today. I’m a newbie to the whole publishing scene. My first publication is A Single Man’s Valentine in the Rebel Ink Press anthology Tempting Cupid, which I will talk about later on.
Even though I’m new to the published author thing, I’ve been writing since… well, since I could write. I wrote my first “book” at age six and even drew illustrations for it. But I didn’t really think this could be a career until I hit high school and even then my self-confidence was too low to think I could do it. The last two years I have been working on improving my writing to the point that I felt confident enough to send it to a publishing company. Then last August I did and Rebel Ink Press decided to sign me on. I never knew I could be so excited or happy about something before.
I live in a small city in New Hampshire with my two rescue animals; an American Eskimo Dog named Bear and a cat named Buddy. I’ll be turning twenty-seven a few days after my first release—talk about a great birthday gift! While my passion lies with my writing, I’m also an avid music fan and love going to concerts; live performances are the best! I also like to knit and read anything from fiction to biographies to historical non-fiction. My interest in different genres is as eclectic as the music on my iPod.

A Single Man’s Valentine, which will be released on February 3rd, 2012, is a short story about two men who finally confess their feelings for each other. They have been best friends for quite a few years and one of them was even married… to a woman. All of which made having feelings for each other a bit more complicated than either would have liked. But the first Valentine’s Day after Kris’ divorce sparks something and neither can hold back any longer. Why don’t you read the back cover blurb and an excerpt from the story to see what I mean.

A Single Man’s Valentine Blurb:

Kris Goodwin wants to spend his first Valentine's Day since his divorce alone in his apartment with a case of beer. But his best friend Jake has other ideas and shows up unannounced. Jake has brought supplies for what he calls the perfect single man's Valentine's Day; take-out, flowers, romantic comedies and a box of chocolates.

As the evening progresses, Jake admits the harmless crush he's had on Kris isn't quite as harmless as he's made it out to be. He's actually in love with Kris. Then Kris tells Jake the real reason behind his divorce.

Excerpt:

Jake leaned his mouth close to Kris’ ear and began to sing quietly.

When the most romantic lines of the song came about, Jake tilted Kris’ head back so he could look into Kris’ eyes as he sang about loving Kris and needing him. About how Jake wanted him to stay now that they’d found each other and Jake wanted Kris to just let Jake love him. “I mean it, Kris,” Jake murmured. “I love you.”

Kris smiled gently. “I love you, too, Jake.”

The older man shook his head. “No, Kris. I mean, I love you. It was never just a harmless crush. Why do you think that last guy and I split up?”

“I know it isn’t a harmless crush,” Kris replied.

“You… you do?” Jake was shocked.

Kris nodded. “I love you too. Why do you think Jill and I are divorced?”

“I thought it was because she didn’t like how much you had to travel for your music,” Jake said confused.

Kris shrugged. “That’s just what we told people. It was really you. It was always you, Jake.”

Jake brushed his fingers through Kris’ hair. “Then why did you want to drink yourself into oblivion tonight?”

"Because,” Kris sighed. “I thought I was going to be all alone on Valentine’s Day.”

“Then why were you grumpy when I showed up?”

Kris shrugged and averted his eyes. “You showed up and you kept saying how this was the perfect single guy’s Valentine’s Day. I’ve never known how to make the first move, I always waited for you to do it. I guess it just kind of annoyed me that you showed up on Valentine’s day as just my friend.” He shrugged and looked down his hands.

Jake tilted Kris’ face back towards his so they were eye to eye, brown to blue. “I’ve never been just your friend,” he murmured.

“No?” Kris asked.

Jake shook his head. “It’s always been you. But you were always one hundred percent straight.” A small smirk turned up the corner of his mouth and Kris grinned back.

“Well, that’s obviously false,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve ever been a hundred percent straight. Especially after meeting you, because really, it was love at first sight for me.” Kris blushed a deep shade of red. He couldn’t believe he actually admitted it out loud.

If you liked what you read, you can pick up a copy of the Tempting Cupid anthology, which A Single Man’s Valentine is a part of, at Amazon Kindle, All Romance E Books, Barnes & Noble Kindle and Bookstrand on February 3rd, 2012.

Thank you so much for reading and many thanks to Wendy for having me.

Until next time,

P.K. Morris

Welcome Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy

I don’t know if all little girls are wedding obsessed or not but I was.  I’m not sure what triggered my bridal instinct but something did.  Back when I grew up, most girls played ‘house’ and ‘school’ and with their Barbie dolls.  I did all that too but one of my favorite games was ‘wedding’.  Every Sunday some of my dozens of cousins came over to play.  Three of my cousins, two brothers and one sister lived less than two blocks away so I decided I had my wedding party.  Tom – the oldest – served as the priest for our Nuptials, Mary became my bridesmaid, and Bill, just one year older than me, was my groom.  I dolled up in one of my mother’s old slips and put my First Communion veil on my head.  With a plastic bouquet borrowed out of one of my mom’s vases I marched down the long hallway and wed, again and again.  It didn’t matter that my would-be groom developed cold feet and was held in place by his brother as he officiated at our little wedding.  As the bride, I felt like the star.

The first music I learned to play on Mary’s electric organ happened to be ‘The Wedding March”.  I owned a beautiful bride doll and my Barbies possessed a wardrobe of lovely wedding gowns.  They married often too.
When I was about seven or eight my aunt and uncle bought a large old house to fit their growing family and when I met the family next door, another Catholic bunch with more kids than I could count, I became smitten with the son closest to me in age.  I admired his sports skills during the summer daily pick up baseball games in his back yard.  We played hide-and-seek together, caught fireflies, ate watermelon, and more.  His harried mom allowed us to make the empty apartment above their garage into a ‘clubhouse’ but after the two oldest sons, teenagers caught us lying on top of each other on the worn out sofa, they took over the space.

I fell in love and figured I’d grow up to marry Joe.   Maybe it might’ve happened but my family moved to another part of the state although as teens, we shared a few happy afternoons when I visited my aunt.  Long distance in real life usually fails to make the heart any fonder, just lonelier and my boyfriends were guys in my new hometown far away.   But I never forgot my ‘first love’.

And that’s where the first inspiration for my just released contemporary Valentine’s Day romance, A Patient Heart, from Rebel Ink Press begins.   In the novel, my heroine Catherine fell hard for her next door neighbor at an early age.  Unlike me, Connor and Catherine’s affection blossomed into love….before it crashed.  Until he showed up as a patient in the far away hospital where Catherine serves as a nurse, Connor was the guy she never forgot, the first love who broke her heart.  She’s afraid to trust…even more scared to love but neither can deny the emotion remaining between them.
Here’s the blurb and then I’ll share an excerpt:

As a little girl, Catherine dreamed she'd marry Connor Donavan one day and as teenagers, that dream seemed within reach. Until Connor ended their relationship, leaving town and breaking Catherine's heart. Ten years later, far from the old hometown, Catherine reports for work as a nurse one snowy January evening and learns that her new patient is none other than her old love, Connor. When he recognizes her, all the old feelings stir but a few sparks fly, too. As Connor recovers from an accident, Catherine realizes she loves him more than ever and he seems to love her as well. But after he leaves the hospital and convalesces at her home, his real life intrudes into their quiet time together. Then Connor leaves Catherine behind and she stays until a message sends her speeding to Kansas City, to Connor's club... On Valentine's Day.
        EXCERPT:

By noon, Catherine yawned with exhaustion but a buoyant happiness kept her going. Removing his catheter proved to be a painful process and she’d left the room, offering him privacy and so she didn’t have to watch. Before the lunch trays were delivered, the PT staff had him on his feet and in his shoes, one of the few things he’d been wearing that survived the accident. Catherine watched his triumphant trek back down the hallway, loving the broad grin on his face but afterward, Connor’s fatigue was evident. His eyes drooped and he slumped in the chair but with the cath and his IV lines gone, he didn’t look as ill.

“Tired?” she asked with a smile.

“Oh, yeah,” Connor replied, “I’m not complaining, though. It’s good to be up again.”

“After you eat lunch and get rested up, how about a shower?” she asked, “Or is that too much for today?”

Connor shrugged, “I don’t know. What is for lunch? Anything I’d want?”

Catherine lifted the lid on the plate and studied it, “It looks like baked chicken and dressing, corn and some pudding.”

He curled his lip but he nodded. “I’ll try to eat it, I guess.”

Connor looked so much like a petulant little boy she laughed, then bent and kissed him full on the mouth with heat. His arms caught her and held her as he kissed her back, his lips sweet as she recalled and yet confident with a maturity he’d lacked before. Catherine felt the pull of his mouth on hers as he took control of the kiss, as strong and inevitable as the ocean tides. Heat flushed her face, spread through her body like ignited wildfire. She welcomed the raging flame, recognized it for what it was and exulted in it. She didn’t know about the love but the passion they’d shared survived. His mouth explored hers, commanding and yet gentle. She caught her breath, held it until her head swam. If she hadn’t caught sight of the monitors he remained plugged into, realized his pulse rate rocketed, his heart rate increased and his blood pressure shot up, Catherine might not have stopped when she did. She pulled back, her lips still warm and curved in a smile.

“Slow down, sweetheart or you’ll collapse into the floor,” she laughed.

Connor grinned but she could see the shimmer of perspiration on his face. “It’d be worth it if I do. I’m dizzy as hell, though.”

Catherine started to laugh but his expression shifted and warned she pushed his head down between his legs, “Don’t pass out, please, Connor.”

Voice muffled, he responded, “I’m trying not to, Cat.”

His breathing sounded too fast but she put one hand on his back, standing beside him, worried but as he calmed, he began to breathe at an easier pace and she sighed with relief.

“Are you okay?” she asked.

Connor sat up, face ghost white but lit with a grin. “Yeah, I’m fine, just shakier than I thought.”

“I’m sorry,” Catherine said.

His grin widened to the proportion of the Mississippi River, “I’m not.”

A nursing assistant burst through the door, wide-eyed, “Mr. Donavan is everything all right? I was watching monitors at the desk and yours went wild.”

“I got a little excited,” Connor replied smiling.

INTRODUCING: MELISSA KEIR

Bio: Hello, My name is Melissa Keir, wife, mother, and author.  The author part has been a dream of mine but like anything that you want, you must work at it and it doesn’t come quickly or easily.  I’ve been writing since I was in middle school, mostly cheesy poetry about silly things.  Back then I really wanted to be a pop star and put on performances with my sisters as back up for my mom in the basement of our home. My mom is the person who got me hooked on romance novels and I’ve read every genre out there.  As I’ve grown and changed, so have my favorite genres. I’m always on the lookout for new favorite authors and must have books.

In school, I was a bit precocious (what we would call gifted these days) so they started a pilot program in middle school to teach speed reading to the “bright” students. The only thing that it did was turn us into more geeks.  Now when the rest of the class was reading a book in two weeks, I’d have it done the first night and plenty of hours on my hands.  Getting into trouble was easy, so I’d have to channel that energy into writing and reading.  I remember fondly my ninth grade English teacher introducing us to Piers Anthony and his story “A Spell for Chameleon” which was the first in a series that today tops out at over 30 books.  During high school and college, I’d read them as fast as they came out, then read all his other series and then on to Anne McCaffrey and pretty much any book I could get my hands on.

The jump from reader to author wasn’t easy.  I’ve always had stories in my head.  I’d often sit down to write them out and get bored or frustrated because there were so many.  I couldn’t get one finished before the next story demanded my attention.  I thought that I would only be a reader.  My husband who was tired of all the books that I had, suggested that I find a job that would keep me busy for the summer since he works and home and I could be in the way (remember precocious?).  I saw that Sizzling Hot Books was looking for a reviewer and after begging Marissa for the job, I’ve been working for her since July and read and reviewed over 215 books for her as well as written interviews with authors and characters.  Marissa was instrumental in helping me get a job as an editor with a publishing house, who suggested that I try writing again.  They had been reading my blogs about my family and loved them, so I finally sat down in two-three days and wrote my first short story.  It needed a lot of editing and since that time, I’ve written more novels and received contracts for three of them, one is appearing in the Love Again Anthology by Ruby Lioness Press and the other two are contracted with Rebel Ink Press.  I still have so many stories and characters that demand my attention that I’ve been writing those ideas down so that I can come back to them when I have time in my busy life.

Right now, I’m the happiest that I’ve ever been.  My whole family supports me and can’t wait to read my stories.  They’ve always known that I’d do anything that I put my heart and determination into, so maybe there is still hope for me to become that drag race car driver!  My motto is I’m always growing!

I love hearing from readers.  You can check me out at: www.melissakeir.com

P.K. Morris
