Rebel Writers with a Cause December Event...

Rebel Writers with a Cause December Event...

Picture

What happens when twenty five writers get together with a story idea geared toward helping better one small corner of the world? Meet Kylie Wright and Buster and find out this December in Paw Prints, a brand new story created by Rebel Writers with a Cause. A financial donation will be made to help support the mission of the National Humane Society.

Buster was a bait dog, the kind used to teach others like him to fight to the death. Left for dead on the side of an empty country road, Kylie Wright finds him and sets into motion a whirlwind of events that offer both she and Buster a second chance at life. With his new master and a handsome vet tech, Jason, at his side, Buster might have just found his very own Shangri-La. That is if the people who abused him, the very same people threatening both Kylie and Jason, can be brought to justice.

Will Buster finally have the life and family he deserves or will fate deliver each of them at the feet of the cruel men running the death pit?

INTRODUCING : ANNE HOLLY

Questions for Authors from My Friends:

What is your favorite book that you wrote?
It’s very hard to choose, since they are all like my children in that I see good things in all of them. Strings Attached is my baby since it’s been ten years in the making, but my favourite so far might be Unwrapping Scrooge, my Christmas novella. It’s just so sweet, and the quirky hero is absolutely wonderful (in my opinion).

What book is coming up next and when is the release date?
I have two releases in October 2011, Like Magic (Oct 3) and Charity (Oct 17), and one in December 2011, Bubbly (Dec 3). These are my Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Years installments in my Rebel Ink Press erotic-romance holiday series. After that, who knows?

How do you come up with your stories and characters?
Experience, somewhat. Mostly just my imagination. And my own personality, in terms of characters – in some ways, they all reflect some bit of myself, I think. The stories usually come after the characters, when I try to imagine what made them the way they are. However, sometimes the characters, setting and plot come to me all at once in a big parcel.

Why don’t authors call the parts what they are instead of the descriptions like “hard rock of manliness”?
This is rather a myth, especially with new romance. Perhaps thirty years ago this might have been the case, since people were worried about offending readers, but I don’t see that a lot now. Purple euphemisms are frowned on, today. Women are now considered adults who can handle the real words. Besides, my current books are in erotic-romance, so I can call it all as I see it. People who read them expect to see open, hot sexuality.

Have you ever recreated sex scenes from your past experiences?
I guess, yes and no. I mean, I won’t say whether I’ve tried everything in my books or not, personally, but I find it all sexy or I wouldn’t have written it. Rule number one – write what you want to read.

What was the first book you can remember reading?
The first longish book I can remember reading all by myself was a story called Skags the Milk Horse. His delivery wagon driver slips on ice, and he has to make it back to the dairy to get help. I loved that book. Simple heroism, love and dedication, and the idea that bravery can come from unexpected places – still themes that run in my writing, actually.

Who inspired you to write?
My mum was constantly reading, so that instilled in me a love of books, which was the start. Then, there were many teachers who were so encouraging when they saw I could write well. And, of course, all of the authors I’ve read over the years.

Fun Facts:

Favorite Color:   Depends on my mood. Red, black and green are big ones. Purple is beautiful.

Favorite Pet:    I’m a cat person.

Favorite Author:    Many! In romance, I’d have to say Jane Austen and Emily Bronte.

The Power of the Pen

I normally wouldn't reach out for something like this except that my family has went through hell with the F5 tornado in Joplin MO. Please see if any of you could help this young woman with words of encouragement.
Her and her family were at her parents when the tornado hit. She had a piece of wood go through her body and it was a miracle that she survived. Her mom had to quit her job to care for her everyday while her husband works. She had a major head injury. Her mom makes her walk to the mailbox everyday for excercise. It is quit a feat for her everyday and takes her a long time to get there. She is terrified of falling! The other day, she finally made it out to the mailbox to find no mail. She broke down crying and frustrated and said, "All that hard work for nothing!" So I want to flood her mailbox with encouraging letters!! Her name is Ashlea Burkhart 3609 E. 13th St. Joplin, Mo 64801
I just think it would brighten her day and make her daily trips to the mailbox a little easier! I know I take my trips to the mailbox for granted, it's easy for me, but to her it's a long hard trip. Thanks so much and please fell free to pass this on to others. You can just mail her one or one a week, anything would be appreciated!! She has had quit a battle to get where she is and she has a long road ahead of her!
Ashlea is married with 2 kids and in her 30's

paraprosdokian - What is this you ask

I learned something today and thought I would pass it on:

paraprosdokian - Figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected; frequently used in a humorous situation

Here is one that I found that is funny!!

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad

Introducing Ella Jade!!

Questions for Authors from My Friends:
What is your favorite book that you wrote?

I love them all. They're like my babies, but if I have to choose one, I'll go with my upcoming m/m Embracing the Unexpected. I've absolutely fallen in love with my two main characters.

What book is coming up next and when is the release date?
Up next us The Lonely Dominant.

Successful businessman Alec Carter realizes his life is less than fulfilled when he meets beautiful Princeton University senior Clara Whittaker at a local coffee shop. Alec experiments in the BDSM lifestyle but doesn't consider himself hardcore until he crosses paths with the obviously submissive Clara. The more time Alec spends with young Clara, the more his dominant tendencies push to the surface. She could be what has been missing.

After her grandmother's death, Clara ends up a guest in Alec's home until she can finish school. She quickly learns she's a natural submissive and decides she wants to explore this new side of herself with the man of house. Alec shows her a life she never knew existed as they enter into a world of role playing, fantasy, and desire. Alec may be the Master, but Clara holds the key to his heart.

As the semester comes to an end, so does their arrangement. If Alec doesn't admit his true feelings for Clara, she could walk out of his life forever. But, Alec isn’t sure which she craves more . . . his dominance . . . or his love.
It's scheduled to release on November 14, 2011 with Noble Romance.

How do you come up with your stories and characters.

For as long as I can remember, the dialogue and plots have always played out in my head. I've developed full stories with just a few sentences of conversation. I usually build on that.
Why don’t authors call the parts what they are instead of the descriptions like “hard rock of manliness”?

I don’t use "hard rock of manliness" lol. I think some authors like to get creative when writing the intimate scenes. Some readers enjoy the euphemisms, but I prefer to say it like it is;)
Have you ever recreated sex scenes from your past experiences?

No, but I will admit I've learned an awful lot from reading erotic fiction. So, some of my fiction may make it into the bedroom from time to time.

What was the first book you can remember reading?

My mother always read to me when I was a child. I knew every nursery rhyme by the time I was three. We read lots of Fairy Tales with happily ever afters. Go figure…

Who inspired you to write?
Writing has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always had a notebook and pen in my hand. The stories inspire me. I love creating the characters and the plots that bring them together.

Fun Facts:
Favorite Color: Black

Favorite Pet: None…my kids are allergic so we steer clear of animals.
Favorite Author: Just one? Can't. Stephen King and Nora Roberts are my top two.

How do we find you:
I love making new friends. You can follow me on my blog http://ellajadeauthor.blogspot.com
